Halloween: The Game XP: How to Level Up Fast and What Unlocks
XP awards read off live Killer-POV footage in Halloween: The Game, plus the Profile Level and challenge gates printed in the Killer loadout menu.
Questions answered
What is the fastest way to gain XP in Halloween: The Game?
What unlocks at each Profile Level?
Why does the same XP award show different numbers?
Do Civilians level up the same way?
What is the maximum Profile Level?
How does XP actually get awarded in Halloween: The Game?
Not one kill at a time — one popup at a time, and each popup bundles several named awards into a single total. That distinction is the whole practical answer to “how do I level up fast”, because it means the number you see floating on the left of the HUD is the sum of everything you stacked on one victim, not the price of the last thing you did.

Scope, stated up front: all three recordings behind this page are Killer (Michael Myers) POV. Every award name and value below is therefore a Killer-side observation. The Civilian action set is a different list and is documented on the Civilian survival tips page, which already covers Civilian XP pacing from a survivor’s own match — I am not repeating it, and nothing on this page should be pasted onto a Civilian run.
Here is a typical popup, read straight off the frame:

Four named lines, one total — the multiplier in brackets is printed per line, not on the headline number. Watch at 2:56.
Three things are visible at once: the total, the named awards that built it, and square-bracket multipliers attached to specific lines. The award names are the game’s own vocabulary, so they are the most reliable thing to learn from this page — they tell you which behaviours the game is actually counting.
What does each action pay? Awards read off the screen
Every row below is a popup I re-read off the extracted frame, not off a first glance at a contact sheet. Values are as shown, with the recording they came from.
| Award lines as printed on screen | Total shown | POV | Recording and timestamp |
|---|---|---|---|
| Priority Target Execution (Lv. 1) / Terrified Kill [1.05x] / All Priority Targets Killed / Body Art Scare / Body Art Scare | +3125 XP | Killer | Awlik ?t=330 |
| Focused / Priority Target Execution (Lv. 3) / Lights Out Kill [1.02x] | +2750 XP | Killer | Awlik ?t=190 |
| Jump Scare ×5 (five identical lines in one popup) | +1030 XP | Killer | Middi ?t=220 |
| Hold Stalk Tier 3 / Resident Execution (Lv. 1) / Terrified Kill [1.05x] | +900 XP | Killer | Awlik ?t=520 |
| Hold Stalk Tier 3 / Resident Execution (Lv. 1) / Terrified Kill [1.05x] | +300 XP | Killer | Awlik ?t=500 |
| Context Execution / Grabbed Priority Target / Super Stalk / Terror Stalk [1.02x] | +769 XP | Killer | Awlik ?t=176 |
| Police Kill (Lv. 3) / One Hit Kill [1.1x] / Wounded Kill [1.05x] / Stealth Kill [1.15x] / Perfect Kill [1.25x] / Wound Target / Sneak Attack / Fully Stalked Police | +725 XP | Killer | EvansTacos ?t=840 |
| Wound Target / Sneak Attack / Sneak Attack | +600 XP | Killer | EvansTacos ?t=40 |
| Over Stalk / Stalk | +500 XP | Killer | Awlik ?t=170 |
| Hold Stalk Tier 3 (single line) | +325 XP | Killer | EvansTacos ?t=340 |
| Police Kill (Lv. 1) / Bleed Out Kill [1.1x] / Wounded Kill [1.05x] / Wound Target / Stalk | +150 XP | Killer | Middi ?t=620 |
| Over Stalk / Stalk | +125 XP | Killer | Awlik ?t=290 |
| Over Stalk / Stalk | +125 XP | Killer | EvansTacos ?t=300 |
| Hold Stalk Tier 3 (single line) | +050 XP | Killer | EvansTacos ?t=80 |
| Hold Stalk Tier 1 [5] (repeat counter) | +010 XP | Killer | Awlik ?t=470 |

A Priority Target execution in a darkened house: the Lights Out Kill bonus rides along with the execution itself. Watch at 3:10.
Three families of names recur, and they are what is actually worth optimising:
- Stalk lines —
Stalk,Over Stalk,Terror Stalk,Super Stalk,Hold Stalk Tier 1,Hold Stalk Tier 2,Hold Stalk Tier 3. Stalking is not free flavour; it appears as its own credit inside almost every large popup. - Execution and target lines —
Priority Target Execution (Lv. 1)/(Lv. 3),Resident Execution (Lv. 1),Civilian Execution (Lv. 1),Context Execution,Rare Context Execution,Weapon Execution,All Priority Targets Killed. - Grab, scare and sabotage lines —
Grabbed Resident,Grabbed Civilian,Grabbed Priority Target,Townsfolk Grab Tier 2,Wound Target,Bloodthirsty, plus the scare family (Jump Scare,Smash Scare,Body Art Scare) andSabotage/Lights Out. These are the cheapest lines on screen, which is exactly why they matter: fiveJump Scarelines alone came to +1,030 XP.

The SPECIAL TARGETS list at top-left named Eric, Alice and Marcus in this match, and the banner fires the moment one drops. Watch at 5:30.
Mobalytics’ killer guide describes the same priority from the menu side: the key residents at the top of the screen are “the NPCs that you should make your focus to kill ASAP before they can escape Haddonfield, as you get many many points for doing so” (0:30) — his reasoning, consistent with what the popups show. Cops count too: a Police Kill (Lv. 1) credit stacks its own kill-quality multipliers the same way a resident kill does.

The same five-line shape as the resident kills, with Bleed Out Kill swapped in — and a POLICE WAGON CALLED notice on the same frame. Watch at 10:20.
Why the same award shows two different numbers
This is the part most guides get wrong, and the frames are unambiguous.
The identical three-line breakdown Hold Stalk Tier 3 / Resident Execution (Lv. 1) / Terrified Kill [1.05x] paid +300 XP at 5:00 and +900 XP at 8:40 — twenty seconds apart, same recording, same match. A lone Hold Stalk Tier 3 line paid +050 XP at 1:20 and +325 XP at 5:40, again in the same recording. Over Stalk / Stalk paid +500 XP once and +125 XP twice, split across two different creators.

The [5] after Hold Stalk Tier 1 is a repeat counter — the same credit applied five times in one batch. Watch at 7:50.

Five Jump Scare lines, one total. Repeating a cheap action on the same victim is how small awards compound. Watch at 3:40.

One line, +325 XP — the identical single line paid +050 XP earlier in this same recording. Watch at 5:40.

The longest breakdown captured for this page: eight named lines behind one total, lit by the rear of a police van. Watch at 14:00.
What the frames support, and what they do not:
- Supported: the headline number is a batch total. Repeating the same credit stacks it into one popup, either as repeated lines or as a
[n]counter. - Not supported: any single value as the price of an action. Nothing here establishes a base value per award, because no two comparable popups agree.
What unlocks as your Profile Level rises?
The loadout menu prints its requirements in plain text, which is the closest thing to an official answer available. Every line below is quoted verbatim off the STARTING WEAPON and KILLER SKINS tabs.
| Screen heading | Item | Requirement line, verbatim | Proof |
|---|---|---|---|
KILLER ICON (under KILLER SKINS) | GHOST | “Complete All Chapter Challenges” | Awlik ?t=40 |
STARTING WEAPON | PITCHFORK | “Reach Profile Level 80” | Awlik ?t=60 |
STARTING WEAPON | PICK-AXE | none — it is owned, so the panel prints a description instead | Awlik ?t=50 |

The character model keeps holding your equipped weapon while the panel describes the one you are hovering. Watch at 1:00.

Not a level gate at all — this cosmetic is challenge-gated, and the screen says “Chapter”, not “Origin”. Watch at 0:40.

The other half of the comparison: an owned slot gets prose and two actions, a locked slot gets a Profile Level. Watch at 0:50.
The SPECIAL ABILITIES tab sits between the weapon tabs and behaves the same way. The game’s own description of Shadow Strike reads, verbatim and including its odd grammar: “Aim and throw a shadow knife that slows and causes temporary blindness to the victim him, giving a perfect opening to move or strike.” (Awlik ?t=110). A “Reach Profile Level 35” line for Shadow Strike is widely repeated in search results; I could not find it on any screen in this footage and this page does not assert it.
What ends up on the scoreboard?
The match closes with a single headline figure rather than a level number, which is worth knowing before you decide what to chase.

KILLER RATING 7148, MICHAEL VICTORY, map name SLAUGHTERHOUSE, and a Next Match In: 00:51 countdown. Watch at 10:10.
A second recording of the same screen reads KILLER RATING 8170 (EvansTacos ?t=900). Whether that rating is the same currency as Profile XP is not shown on either screen, so this page does not equate them.
What do the creators say is the fastest route?
Everything in this section is attributed opinion. No frame proves any of it.
- PradaSpeaks runs a private-game loop: cut the power or smash the box before entering, then “stalk them all the way to tier three, and then just kill them”, because “I think you get more XP from that” (1:01). He reports skipping the phone line because “it really don’t give that much XP. It’ll probably give like 50” (0:30), claims “we just got 2,400 XP just from off that one kill” (1:31), and says the method took him from “level 31” to “level 51 or 50 something” in about two days (05:36). None of those figures appear on a screen.
- Mobalytics recommends not opening with the real players: “avoid going straight for the real-life players at the start of the game … Instead, focus on shutting down power boxes outside of houses and taking out lower and higher priority residents” (1:31). His stalking explanation matches the award names — three Stalk levels, each one “weakens them further, building fear”, and a high level “unlocks new environmental executions in certain spots” (5:05).
- BloodThirstyLord ranks the weapons rather than the grind, and calls the Pitchfork “the last weapon you unlock on Michael Myers” while rating it C tier — useful corroboration that 80 really is the top of that ladder, and a reminder that the newest unlock is not the strongest (0:00). He also states that “all weapons do scale on Bloodthirst level three, Level Stalk three, and also with Evil Presence” (11:14).
- EvansTacos points at the private lobby for challenge progress, which is visible on his own screen as a
MATCHMAKEmenu with aPRIVATE MATCHentry (0:20), and says a finisher-type challenge needs “Bloodthirst tier three all the way maxed out” (0:03).

Two Sneak Attack lines on one victim: approach matters as a scored behaviour, not just as a tactic. Watch at 0:40.
What these recordings do not establish
The honest boundary of this page. None of the following is answered by a frame I could read, and several are contradicted by the search results that claim them.
- The XP curve per level. No screen shows how much a level costs, how close you are to the next one, or a progress bar. Every value above is an award, never a threshold.
- A maximum Profile Level. Middi says “you need to hit max profile level, which is 100. And then it costs 5,000 points” (0:00) — commentary, unconfirmed by any menu here.
- Whether a value is per-match or per-objective. The +300 / +900 pair above rules out a fixed per-action price but does not replace it with a model. Scaling by Bloodthirst tier, Stalk tier, victim type or match stage is plausible and unproven.
- The Civilian award list. All three recordings are Killer POV. The Civilian actions that pay are on the Civilian survival tips page, and the full roster those actions belong to is on all Civilians.
- Any ability unlock requirement. Only weapon and cosmetic gates print a requirement line in this footage. “Shadow Strike — Reach Profile Level 35” and “Lurk — Complete all Trapper Challenges” circulate as fact; I found no frame for either and am not publishing them.
- Prestige rules. The menu offers a
Prestigeaction on an owned weapon and Middi describes a timed challenge with a repeat cost, but no screen here documents the requirements, the rewards or the reset. Prestige is a separate guide. - Live patch numbers. Values were read from footage of no confirmed build — unlike our best settings page, none of these menus displayed a version string. Expect drift, and re-check after a major update.
- Perk Points and Perk Cards. Different currency, different system, different screen — that is the Perk Cards explained page, which documents roll, upgrade and scrap prices. Nothing on this page connects XP awards to Perk Point income, because no frame shows that link.

A Steam friends overlay with a red badge intrudes at the left edge at several points between roughly 6:00 and 13:30 in this recording — visible at 6:40, 12:40 and 13:20 — so no frame on this page is taken from that stretch, and each published frame was checked corner by corner at native resolution. - Middi — I Finally Reached MAX Level And Prestiged! BloodThirstyLord (nGXRyfQBVak) for the weapon tier list and the claim that the Pitchfork is the last weapon unlocked. All three carry burned-in captions or a persistent channel overlay, so they are cited as attributed speech only. - Corrections against the pre-check notes. The GHOST skin’s requirement is “Complete All Chapter Challenges” on screen, not “Complete all Origin Challenges”. The Pitchfork gate is “Reach Profile Level 80”, not 50. EvansTacos’s +400 / +725 breakdowns are
Wound Target / Sneak Attack / Sneak AttackandPolice Kill (Lv. 3)plus kill-quality multipliers — notScout Attack,Pre-Match KillorFast Survivor, none of which appear on any frame here. TheSPECIAL TARGET … KILLEDbanner published here comes from Awlik’s match and names Eric; the three recordings each list a different trio (Awlik: Eric, Alice, Marcus — EvansTacos: Michael, Richard, Bob — Middi: Michael, Alexis, Sam), so “Richard” is not a fixed target and no frame supports it as one. - Not established by any reviewed frame: the XP required per Profile Level, the level cap, whether award values scale with Bloodthirst or Stalk tier, the Civilian award list, any ability unlock requirement, Prestige rules, and the live patch these values belong to.
